The annual Alumni Meet of PBS “MILAAP 2011” was held on the 6th November, 2011 at Hotel Four Points, Vashi, Navi Mumbai with an objective of networking with alumni of PBS. The theme of the meeting was “Stay connected – for mutual benefit”.
The meeting was graced by the presence of the founder, Secretary and CEO of Mahatma Education Society, Dr. K. M. Vasudevan Pillai, the Chairperson and Mentor Dr. Daphne Pillai and Dy. CEO Mr. Franav Pillai. Sharing his thoughts, Dr. K. M. Vasudevan Pillai said, “the alumni play an important part in development of an institution and Mahatma Education Society has been supporting alumni activities besides investing in infrastructure, facilities, systems and faculty in making PBS a truly world-class and 1st choice management institute in Mumbai”. He also mentioned about Pillai HOC Institute of Management Studies where country’s largest integrated education complex is being developed.
The meeting was attended by over 350 alumni which, included alumni as old as 1998 batch. The atmosphere was nostalgic as Alumni as well as faculty networked, revived old memories, shared their feelings, laughed together had fun and got photographed with their batch-mates. Present students of PBS added charm to the whole event as they entertained their seniors with some fabulous dance performances and games. The whole event was made enjoyable by Ms. Nivedita Shreyans, the Anchor and PRO of PBS.
Besides networking, fun and entertainment, serious business discussions were also in the agenda of the meeting. The Alumni committee was formed. Prof. Mukesh Goyal presented the theme of the meeting and discussed how the alumni as well as PBS can benefit mutually by staying connected. He also presented the initiatives PBS is taking for the benefit of alumni.
Elated with the huge alumni turnout, the Director of PBS Dr. G. Vijayaragavan and Associate Director, Prof. D. C. Pai mentioned that PBS alumni are well placed in the Industry and they are happy at the progress PBS alumni are making. This speaks for the quality of management education PBS imparts to its students. With help of entire faculty, the meeting was conducted successfully.
