The Corona pandemic witnessed a large-scale demand for products like PPE kits, masks and face shields. These products were of utmost importance to frontline corona warriors who raked their lives while executing their day to day duties. With this growing demand Pillai Group of Institutions felt the need to make use of the 3D printing facility available at the Dr. K. M. Vasudevan Pillai Campus to manufacture Protective Face Shields for police, doctors and people involved in essential services. The faculty members of the facility were instrumental in undertaking and completing the initiative successfully. About 11 students of the institute were involved in distribution of the face shields to the front-line service providers. The beneficiaries of this initiative were the Khanda Colony Police, Rasayani Police, Kalamboli Police, Tilak Nagar Police, Suasth Hospital, Murbad Police & Doctors
