The students of PGDM (IB) organized a management event FINTO PARLAMENTO (Mock Parliament) on Friday the 20th September, 2013. This is the first ever event of its kind organized at Pillai Institute of Management Studies and Research. The idea behind the event was to give the participants actual feel of the Parliament and its proceedings.
The Honorable Speakers of the House (Judges) were Prof. Priyanka Chatta and Prof. Vivekanand Pawar. The event began at 1.00 p.m. was conducted in two sessions. The first session comprised of three bills: National Food Security Bill, National Educational Amendment Bill and Protection of Women from Harassment at workplace Bill. Whereas the second session included two bills: Politicians Retirement Age (Fixing) Bill and Almost No Corruption Bill.
The total no. of registrations received were 60 (including 1st and 2nd year students). Out of the total registrations, 40 participants turned out for the event. The parameters for selecting the winners included Parliamentary Behavior, Discipline and decorum, Delivery and quality of speeches delivered and standard of debate etc.
Based on the above criteria three participants were declared winners and were provided following greetings :
